Things I Could Have Learned at SMX

October 13, 2008

Those of you who follow me on Twitter, know that I couldn’t make it to SMX East because of a prior engagement I had, and I was sorely disappointed I didn’t go. Well I noticed enough people blog about their experiences at the conference that I could still learn a few things, albeit not everything.

The concepts taught are easy to understand from a blog, but I missed out on the one on one time. Also, I couldn’t network and meet people. Personalized help and friends are probably the best reasons to go to a conference.

But since I missed SMX East and I’m sure some of you weren’t able to attend either, I’ve compiled the some blog posts about SMX…

5 Ways the iPod Touch Can Make Your Life Easier

September 29, 2008

I just recently got the iPod Touch because I wasn’t willing to switch from Verizon Wireless to AT&T for the iPhone. I realized that I didn’t need connectivity everywhere, but free WiFi would be my savior. Once I got it it dawned on me how great of a tool this really was. At first I thought I’d just use it to control my desktop or for mobile IM throughout the house and office, but after spending a little time with it I learned how I could use it to increase my blogging and social media effectiveness.

Is "The Internet" Nice? – A Social Movement

July 24, 2008

It’s sad that the news tends to give the Internet a bum rap. Just look at how many shows are dedicated to how shitty things are, and how dangerous the Internet is.

All is not lost though, because I know truthfully, that a majority of Internet users are good people. The media works hard to fear monger, while bloggers continually fight to show truth.

1 – We all forget about Google beta, but yes it had a beta too. This is the beginning of the everyday Google logo. 2 – Google vote, simple, persuasive, what more could you ask for in a fun “election” logo? 3 – Halloween at Google. I wonder how many times they’ll do the double [...]

Microsoft and Yahoo – Deal Over

May 3, 2008

Sounds like the Microsoft and Yahoo deal is not going to take place after all. Microsoft went up to $33 but Yahoo refused to move from their $37 per share mark. I found these developments to be interesting, and unexpected. I guess my false hopes of a merger and potential for something good to come [...]
