The Most Important Thing for A Successful Website

I won’t waste your time. Two things are required for a successful website / blog / anything really. Patience and Dedication.

There are billions of websites on the Internet, with a new blog and site being created constantly. It WILL take time for people to see your website, for you to create a user base, for you to become successful. We always hear about the select few websites gaining instant recognition. This is NOT the norm. Most successful websites take time to grow. Don’t believe me? Check the whois database for when a website domain was bought or read the “about us” page to see when the site was first created. You might be surprised at how long it took for some of your favorite websites to become popular.

Patience alone will not get you notoriety. Dedication goes hand in hand. You will have to be constantly adding new content, creating new features, contacting other bloggers, commenting in the community, and becoming an industry expert.
Without all this you might as well close the site now.

If you’re not prepared to put in long hours, and have the resolve to be patient when you realize you had 11 visitors to your site today, don’t get into the Internet business. The reason most start-ups fail in my opinion is because most people believe making money on the Internet is easy. They’re wrong, it’s like any other job, hard work and patience. Of course working on the Internet means I can wake up at 11am and work in my pajama’s and work from home if I like.
