An Edge

Jeremy Shoemoney from Shoemoney.com posted a great YouTube video a while ago where he spoke about a blog’s edge. The edge is supposed to be what makes you different, what makes you stand out from the crowd. He’s spoken about this aspect of the Internet multiple times, most recently under the guise of a move review.

I agree with him on the main idea, that an edge makes you stand out, and can make your blog or site or whatever more marketable. You’d be one of a kind. But the thing I disagree with him, or maybe he just didn’t articulate it properly, is that an edge is not hard to come by. The edge can be anything, and doesn’t have to be something you actively do. It can be the fact that you’re a girl or Indian. It can be the style of writing or the form you use. Anything that helps you connect with your readers.

I’ve posted the video where Shoemoney talks about the edge. I’d love to hear what you think, and I’d definitely be curious to see if he agrees with me.
