Plurk an Evolution of Conversation

Plurk LogoIf you have no idea what Plurk is, you’re definitely missing out. It’s a great tool, similar to Twitter, but oh so much better. In fact, in the next day or two that Twitter button under my RSS button will be switching over to Plurk, as I make the move.

So what exactly is Plurk? It’s another micro-blogging tool, and its extremely similar to Twitter. Plurk has the 140 character limit, but it lets you share YouTube videos and picture, unlike Twitter. It also places them on a timeline.

The main reason I love Plurk, and its biggest difference from Twitter is that it helped evolve the conversation. On Twitter replies and tweets are one sided, creating a conversation that’s fragmented and impossible to follow. On Plurk, though, people can easily reply to a post and the conversation becomes personable.

Twitter’s major downtime issues, and problems with conversation have already created a wave of people jumping ship to Plurk. Where yesterday it was unknown, today it’s the next big thing.

If you follow me on Twitter, make sure you add me as a friend on Plurk, I promise I can be entertaining at times.
