This Widget Is No Longer Supported. Sorry!
I’ve released the first version of an “About Me” widgets for bloggers.
The widget displays your name as the title, allows you to input a url for your profile image, and links to all your social media profiles.
It’s simple to use, and I hope to add on to it based on your suggestions.
This is what the widget looks like on your blog:

Feel free to leave suggestions, or ask for support here, or contact me.
I’ve added a link back to me for creation of the plugin, you’re welcome to remove it from your footer, but I ask that you put it somewhere else. I won’t be able to track who does what, but all I ask is for good will. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks for the plugin! I can’t wait to use it on my blog.
Hi Samir, nice widget especially as the other About Me widget (samdevol.com) is no longer compatible with WP 2.6. Just hought it would be nice to have a mini-biog section so that you could add a few lines about yourself if you wanted to.
Cheers,
P
Hi Samir
Thanks for this – very neat idea!
I’ve installed the Widget and all seems fine, except the small icons don’t appear under my picture (see my blog – link above). The hyperlinks are there, mind you. Any thoughts? (I’m using Firefox).
Thanks, and seasons greetings! =)
Ken
Good luck – hope you fix it! Looking forward to finishing off the setup!

hi, thanks for the great plugin. i don’t see a link for facebook, though. Am I missing it somehow…or is it just not included?
Hi Samir
Two things!
How are you getting on with the 2.7 fix?
Secondly, other plugins which can access Facebook use the members ID number (which displays in the URL when they’re on their Home page. You might be able to do something with that).
Hope to hear from you!
Hey Samir,
how about for facebook, instead of putting in our username, if you have a field where we can put the entire link? That saves some coding on your end, and lets us include our facebook profiles. Especially since facebook is one of the larger most used social networking sites.
That sounds like a good idea Jason, Hopefully I’ll get a chance this weekend to try that out.
Kiwanja I’m working on the widget this weekend. Wordpress 2.7 seems to have broken some stuff.
Facebook isn’t actually included because they don’t make it easy to reach someone’s profile. It’s a long process to make your profile. Hopefully if they streamline the process, I’ll be able to add it.
